A special committee was formed by the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation in 2011 to engage the public; determine the scope of the project; participate in consultant selection; develop associated educational programs; and raise the necessary funds to restore the Memorial through grants, special events, and solicitation of donations. Members of the committee are committed to the restoration project because the Spirit of Life and Spencer Trask Memorial serve as defining symbols of our community that should be preserved for future generations.
The founding members of the Steering Committee were Samantha Bosshart, Cynthia Corbett, James Gold, Julia Stokes, Holly Schwarz-Lawton, Dee Sarno and Jere Tatich. In 2013, Kathleen Fyfe and Barbara Linell Glaser joined as the honorary co-chairs of the restoration campaign. Commissioner of Public Works Skip Scirocco and his executive assistant Donna Buckley represent the City of Saratoga Springs on the committee.
